Introducing Gift Cards

Since we have quite a few gift giving holidays approaching (Mother's Day, Father's Day), I decided to launch a new digital product.....Gift Cards. Ok, so gift cards are not new in the retail world but they are new on my site! www.freshradiantskin.com :-)

I'm offering Gift cards available in the following denominations: $20, $50, $75

Gift Cards are available and good for any product on the site. Due to system limitations at this time (being worked on for further functionality) Gift Cards must be used in full at the time of purchase. They can be redeemed for the full value of a product and can also be used to pay toward the purchase of products. For example, let's say you have a $20 Gift Card and you want to purchase a $30 item. You will just pay the balance of $10 with your credit card or PayPal.

Additionally, since the gift cards are digital, you have the option of having them emailed directly to the gift recipient for fast delivery.

Check out our Gift Card Selection for gift giving today. As always, all orders receive Free Samples!

Upcoming Events & Business Update

It's amazing how fast 2009 is passing us by. I've been so busy with running my business that I sometimes wonder where the time has gone. I wanted to write a little short post to share a bit about what's going on in the life of my business, Reviyve LLC.

Mother's Day is around the corner and there are so many things planned. For starters, I am in the midst of participating in Online Shopping Mall's Mall Crawl that started on April 24th and runs through May 1st. This is a great opportunity for you to pick up some amazing products for Mother's Day Gifts. I have not had the opportunity to look at all of the available products at the mall, in addition to my own but I did come across a unique product line that I just had to share. It's called Brain-athon Emporium. Brain-athon Emporium is owned and operated by a lovely woman named Cindy Powers. She offers books, games, software and a host of other stuff to develop and challenge your critical thinking skills. Some of the products are for children but I think these products are also good for aging individuals because when the mind is occupied, there's less of a chance of memory loss, Alzheimer's and other deteriorating mental conditions. So stop by Cindy's page at Online Shopping Mall. You'll find some good items there at 15% off. This is an unadvertised special so I'm not going to give you the discount code or the website. You'll have to stop by the Online Mall Crawl for yourself :-)

Next on my agenda is my daughter's high school shopping event. They are having a two day sale a few days before Mother's Day and the PTA president has graciously chosen my products to sell at the fundraiser. I've assembled some really nice aromatherapy soy candles in decorative organza bags as well as sets of 3 shea butter and soy travel size soaps in decorative organza bags. I don't normally sell the soap on my site but had them specially handcrafted for this fundraiser to keep things affordable for the kids. The items will sell for $10 and $7 respectively.

After the school event, I head up to Buffalo, NY (8 hour drive there and 8 hour drive back!)for the World's Largest Yard Sale. This event is the day before Mother's Day and has been advertised for weeks. Since, it's Mother's Day I am offering an assorted set of Gift Sets along with some aromatherapy candles. I believe these will sell very well (I'll share on my trip when I return). As an incentive to buy, my husband is planning to give away free coffee samples with every order. A little birdie told me that Buffalo is a coffee drinking town!

After these events, I will be doing some networking every other month at some events in Westchester County where I live. There's a monthly event hosted by Westchester Networking for Professionals. This is a great place to make connections with other like minded business owners and entrepreneurs so if you live in the area, check out the site and try to attend a mixer.

Then, that brings me to October. Last year I attended the Circle of Sisters Expo in NYC at the Jacob Javits Center. I handed a lot of information out about my business as well as sold some products. The cost however to attend this event is a little outrageous. $1,500 for a table for two days and the second day is not even a full day. I realize this is NYC but come on. I'm going to tell you all about the event from last year in a post as I get closer to the event. Some of you may be thinking, "Why is she going again if it's so expensive?" Well, I'm not paying this year. That's how. Well, I'll be paying to get into the event as a spectator but while I'm there, I will hand out approximately 200 samples, distributing to anyone I come across, along with my business card information and brochures. I noticed that a lot of entrepreneurs were there last year doing the same thing and apparently it isn't prohibited. What I won't do is block the tables of other business owners who paid to be there. More on that later...

So, that's it for now but I'm looking to do some other things before this year is out. I've not been afforded the opportunity to work very much on my Search Engine Optimization for my websites so I'm taking things offline to get the word out about my product line, Blended Naturals and to make some more money so that maybe some day I can use an SEO company.

Say a prayer for me (for those who actually pray!). No luck here. I don't believe in it. With luck, someone wins but others have to lose (bad luck). With God's blessing, everyone can win.

Have a Blessed Day!

Fight Wrinkles and Increase Your Skin's Radiance

I was reading my usual email tips from Self.com and came across some informative tips to help you fight wrinkles, increase your skin's radiance and even out your skin tone. I am actually quite proud and confident with the product line I offer, Blended Naturals as our facial product line contains the very ingredients to accomplish these tasks.

To fight wrinkles, Peptides are your friend. Peptides are amino acids that stimulate collagen production which minimize fine lines. AHAs also work beneath the surface, and increase collagen and elastin synthesis. Blended Naturals Dead Sea Mineral AHA Night Time Facial Peel and Dead Sea Mineral Under Eye Serum work really well and contains Cell-Ox2, an advanced natural source peptide, that has been developed specifically to address the conditions of dark circles and puffiness in the eye area.

In-vivo tests have confirmed visible results after only 4 weeks. Cell-Ox2 Phyto Peptide®:
• Improves micro-circulation.
• Protects the integrity of collagen and elastin
• Reduces the effects that free radicals have upon the skin

Our customers are amazed at the effectiveness of our Mineral Under Eye Serum, as it is priced comparably.

To increase your skin's radiance, it's important to exfoliate. I talked about this in a previous post but it bears repeating. When you are searching for a quality exfoliator, one expert from Miami's Cosmetic Medicine and Research Institute. said, "Look for small granules; soft particles may not exfoliate well enough, and large, jagged edges can create tiny tears." Blended Naturals has a Dead Sea Mineral Brown Sugar Scrub that also forms a facial mask to decongest your pores. The granules of the sugar scrub are just right. Not too small or too large. I use this product regularly for smooth skin.

Gentle skin lighteners composed of certain amino acids and vitamin B help to block the formation of melanin which darkens the skin. Amino acids also help moisturize and condition the skin.

Summer time skin care

Summer time is fasting approaching and so I thought what better time than to talk about how to care for your skin during the summer months.

At the entrance of spring, we do spring cleaning of our homes and wardrobes but what about the products we use to care for our skin? Some people have cabinets full of old skin care products that may not be as effective for the summer months.

When thinking about summer skin care, we can't do so without thinking about Earth's ozone layer. Our ozone layer, a thin shield of natural gas found in two different layers of the atmosphere surrounding Earth has been significantly damaged as a result of pollutions to the environment (hair spray, unnatural products such as soap and pesticides). The ozone layer is supposed to protect us from harmful ultraviolet rays emitted from the sun. These harmful UV rays can cause skin cancer. As a result of the damage the sun can do to your skin, it is imperative to use a skin protectant with an SPF level of at least 30 before going outdoors. SPF 15 is no longer sufficient to for summer time skin care. Also, regardless of what your product instructions say, you MUST reapply your SPF 30 skin protectant at least every two hours if you are outdoors or in the water.

Take note that even when it's cloudy outside and the sun doesn't appear to be shining, you are still exposed to ultraviolet rays. Clouds are not a protector from ultraviolet rays. Only the ozone layer can accomplish that and since ours is rapidly being depleted, we must use other means to protect our skin.

Nutritive Cleanse - Day 5 A Wash

Hi there-

It's day 5 of the cleanse and I've decided to cut it down to 4 days. Now some of you may be thinking, "Dag, couldn't she just make it one more day?" Well, the answer is no. Not because I was freaking out for food or anything either.

So, this is going to be TMI for some of you so if you want to stop reading now, that's your prerogative. It's all about my BM (bowel movement). Apparently because I didn't eat any food and the nutritive drink was full of fiber, it was binding me up! In the directions for the cleanse it says you can eat certain foods in between the drinks (apple, plum, pear, rice cracker etc). I had to be all hard core and do it with nothing and now I'm all stopped up! So, I decided to stop and start eating food again. I used to have a BM at least once a day and since I started the nutritive cleanse, which is to regulate blood sugars and alkanize my body, I have only gone once in the four days. Not cool for me so I'm started back eating last night. I was very good too. No more desires for junk food, praise God. I had a plate of brocoli and some ground turkey meatloaf. Not bad. Today I'm having more brocoli and grilled chicken. Brocoli is the common theme you see? It makes me go!

I just want to say that this cleanse has taught me that I do have the power to exercise self control and now that's what I am going to do. I will not be putting crap back into my body and I will only be eating meat 2-3 times per week. I'm going to focus my diet on fish, fruits and veggies which also act as natural detoxers. I'll update my photo in another week and a half. My face is already clearing but I want everyone to see the complete results.

I'll not be reporting back on my BMs obviously because who could care! lol

I want to thank everyone who offered encouragement. It was truly an accomplishment not to have any food for 4 days.

5 Day Nutritive Cleanse - Day 4!!

It's day 4 of the cleanse and 1 more day to go woo hoo!! I woke up this morning A LOT less sluggish than usual. I went to bed around mid night so this is a good thing.

Today is the true test. There's always so much junk food at my job. I think I'll do fine though. I have my delicious nutritive shake to hold me over LOL. I'll keep you all posted.

Michelle
P.S. Why did my husband have to cook dinner last night like we were having guests???? Grilled chicken strips and fresh sliced baked home fries! How inconsiderate can he be!

5 Day Cleanse - Day 3

Good Morning all-

So, I made through day 2 of the cleanse and day three is getting easier. I woke up with no hunger pangs and no headache. Yesterday I did have this weird indigestion but that's gone. I still would love to eat some wonderful food I miss but it's not an intense urge anymore.

Last night I received encouragement to continue. When I went to church my pastor talked about passing tests. He even had a moment of humor where he said people talk about making their businesses million dollar companies and taking their companies to the top etc.......but they can't even conquer a cookie. That hit home. How can I do big things and conquer all sorts of challenges and tests when I can't even push my plate aside for 5 days to do a cleanse? This gave me strength.

So, today will be easy and I know it. It's Resurrection Sunday and I know that if Jesus could turn his plate down for 40 days and 40 nights, 5 days is nothing. Today, I plan to accomplish some things in my home (cleaning etc.) and then do my grandmother's taxes and wash my hair. Then on to day 4 of the nutritive cleanse. The days are winding down and I look forward to eating a...........................salad! That's right. What's the since of doing a cleanse if I'm going to put crap right back into my body??

I highly doubt I'll be back on the computer to talk about the rest of my day while on this cleanse since I have so much to do and plus I don't think I'll need to whine to anyone today lol

Stay tuned

5 Day Cleanse - Afternoon

Hi everyone. Good news and bad news. The good news is I'm still hanging in there. I felt a little dizzy so I took a nap. Bad news is I missed the bridal shower. I guess it's just as well since I may not have been strong enough to avoid the temptation to eat. You know how it is at parties, especially at the church. Everybody and their mama cooks and brings food. The thing is I was going to go but the weather was so bad with the rain and I didn't want to bring my son out in the weather. Well, now the sun is shining and I'm wondering if God helped me out a little by letting it rain, knowing that I wouldn't go to the party, thereby helping me to stay out of temptation. hmmm I don't know.

Well, I'm off to church now...late but I think I can make it.

5 Day Cleanse - Day 2 Morning

So it's day two and I made it through day 1 of the nutritive cleanse. I went to bed a little early because the hubby cooked up a really good dinner.

Thank God I still haven't gotten a severe headache from this cleanse. I still woke up a little bit lethargic but then again it's only been one day. I am however experiencing a lot of indigestion. It's not severe but it's frequent. Now here in lies my problem. I keep asking myself why did I start this nutritive cleanse this weekend of all weekends???? I have a bridal shower to go to today. How on earth can I be around all that food????!!! I don't want to stop the cleanse now since it's only 5 days and I would have to start all over again next week. I think I'm going to just go toward the end and drop off the gift and then off to church I go.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I walked down the aisles of Duane Reade (pharmacy in NY) looking for bridal and wedding cards. Why is it that everywhere you turn they are posting the candy and junk food all around and even at the front register??? I know this is an advertising technique but come on. It's ridiculous. It's as if they want us to be unhealthy.

Well, I'm feeling a bit hungry and I've got about an hour before lunch drink lol

Stay tuned....I'll be back tonight to talk about how I handled the bridal shower

5 Day Cleanse - Late Afternoon

Lord I want to eat!! I can not believe I feel so tempted to eat already. I took my daughter to Target and the second I walk in, the smell of fresh popcorn hits me. how cruel. I walked around Target praying in the spirit and praying to God to help me. I only went to Target to pick up some moisturizer for my daughter's hair since she just came from the hairdresser. i honestly didn't consider that I would be surrounded with all this junk food.

Oh and guess what my darling daughter did with her considerate self? She decides to buy not one but two boxes of Cheeze Its, a bag of Starburst jelly beans a Rainbow smoothie, Tropicana orange juice and a hotdog! (notice how I recall in great detail the brands and flavors of food she bought) Oh and to boot.... she even got Starburst lip balm! I even wanted to eat that.

Did I mention I got to do the long drive home (15 mins) inhaling her hotdog?!!

On a brighter note, while I feel like eating, I'm not experiencing any headaches just a slight bit of naussea. BUT it's for the greater good and every time I feel like I want to eat, I tell myself that my body needs this and I deserve to get healthy.

1 Day almost down, 4 more to go

Until later...
Michelle

5 Day Cleanse - Day 1 Morning

Hello Beautiful People!

So, it's the first day of my 5 day cleanse and I started out with a very positive attitude and I'm doing pretty good without having had a solid breakfast. Now, for some of you that's no biggie. You may skip breakfast daily. Well, I don't and I'm not used to no food. So, here's what I'v done so far:
  • Got up and prayed (I need God every day but especially now!)
  • Checked email and packaged up some aromatherapy candles for an upcoming fundraiser
  • Had my first shake of the day. It consists of Young Living's Balance Complete mixed with a 1/2 banana, handful of Wolfberries and vanilla rice milk. With that I took 2 ounces of Young Living's NingXa Red - a powerful antioxidant and a Digest + Cleanse tablet
  • Drank my first 8 ounces of water for the day

All in all I'm in a pretty good mood but I can see this going awry around 3pm when I usually crave cookies! However, I will persevere! For my health's sake and definitely so I can restore fresh radiant skin :)

Stay tuned!

Going on a Detox!

Hey everyone. This will be a short post (well shorter than the usual) because for the next 5 days you will hear (read) from me quite often. You may even get tired of "reading" from me that you think you are hearing my voice LOL.

So a little background and then I'll get to the point. I've been a naughty girl where eating is concerned. I have been chugging down cookies, chips you name it. Shame on me too because not only is it not healthy overall, sugar and junk food affects the beauty and appearance of your skin.

The problem is once you start eating junk food, your body gets addicted and herein lies my issue. Well, I decided to do something about it. When I became an independent distributor for Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils, I decided I would not only sell the products but I would practice what I preach. On my stress relief blog, I talk about how I just started using therapeutic grade essential oils and how they are helping me to naturally clear up bronchitis. If you want to know the details please go there.

Well, now I want to share my next venture with a line of products called the 5 Day Nutritive Cleanse. I received my kit today and I plan to start it on Friday (need a day to prepare myself mentally!). I will be giving my digestive system and my body in general, a much needed break. No food for the next 5 days (Lord Jesus help me!).

The 5 Day Cleans is a proprietary product from Young Living and consists of a nutritional drink called NingXia Red (a natural antioxidant and nutrient defense infusion), Balance Complete (an energizing super food shake high in a proprietary fiber blend and known to stabilize blood sugars) and Digest + Cleanse (a purely essential oils product that supplies therapeutic grade peppermint, caraway, lemon and other essential oils directly to the intestines). I'll be drinking lots of water as well.

My goal is to eliminate the negative food cravings so I can begin to eat healthier. Of course, a lovely side effect to all of this will be renewed energy and my favorite........fresh, radiant skin! Soooo in order to be real and transparent, I want to share my before pic of the side of my face that has been rebelling against me lately due to my poor eating habits (excuse the lack of no make up but I want everyone to see the real deal and the consequences of poor eating. I do expect a dramatic improvement in 2 weeks though!). I was going to do this with just eating fruits and veggies and using natural skin care products but I want there to be a more dramatic effect. If it works for me, I'll be helping someone else with the same issues of poor eating.

I'm going to also post an after pic of how I look 10 days after the cleanse. 5 Days no food, 5 days eating fruits and veggies. I will also be using nothing but my natural products to cleanse, tone and moisturize my skin. If this fast gives me the desired results, I will pass on the details to all my blog readers so you can pick it up for yourself. Everyone can stand to get a little clean on the inside!

Woo hoo! here we go. I gotta get excited now because I don't know that I'll be this happy on Friday.

Pray for me yall Signing off for now. Back on Friday.

My Def of External Beauty

Hi everyone-

I'm back. (why does this feel like I'm writing a letter to a pen pal) So, it seems as the more I write, the more I want to write. Funny thing is I seem to enjoy this more than the processing of orders for my online stores - which is the reason i got into this in the first place!

Anyway, I was riding on the subway on my long commute home from my day job and I began to think about what I would blog about next. I was thinking, "Suppose I run out of things to say??!" (As IF) That's when I started looking around at different people and starting thinking about the subject of external beauty.

When I think about external beauty, I don't have this image of skinny women with long hair and perfect skin. Years ago, I may have had that image in my head when thinking about external beauty. On the contrary, now when I think about external beauty I envision women of all races... Black, White, Asian, Indian, Mexican and so on. Each of these women possesses some thing that gives them external beauty. It does not mean she has the whole package as the media likes to portray beautiful. She may not have pretty teeth but look at that gorgeous mane of hair. She may not have long pretty hair but look at how beautiful her skin is. Ok, she may not have flawless skin but did you see those gorgeous brown eyes? Maybe she has no outstanding facial features but she has a shape like a coke bottle.

I guess what I'm trying to say to every woman who I am privileged to have read this, is that regardless of your race, weight, hair texture or height, you have something that God blessed you with that makes you beautiful.

I'm not about to toot my own horn here but I want to prove a point. I used to think I was ugly. I had big feet and a gap in my teeth to match BUT then one day, I grew to those feet and the gap seemed to shrink (or I grew) and is appealing to many. I began to see that while I don't have a model's figure, I sure do have a nice head of hair and some pretty little eyes (or so I'm told).

The point I'm trying to make is that external beauty is not about what you are made up to be but it's about what you possess naturally. Here's where I like to differentiate. Usually when a person is deemed physically unattractive by others, people will point out their inner beauty. This is not about that. I accept the challenge to be able to point out someone's outer beauty. There's nothing more hurtful than to think you are physically unattractive and then have some tell you all about your inner beauty. Women don't want to hear that mess! All of us want to feel we have some form of external beauty.

Now, what I'm about to say is not meant to be taken the wrong way. I'm happily married to a MAN. However, I can look at any woman who thinks she's not attractive and find something externally beautiful about her.

To wrap it all up, let me just advise: work with what you have. Take care of yourself. If you are overweight, wear the most slammin' outfits you can find. If you have short hair, get it cut in a nice style and accentuate your baby blues or baby browns. Put on some make up! Nothing wrong with wanting to look your best and accentuate what you have. Ladies, get your nails done or do them yourself. Don't allow anyone to make you feel physically un-beautiful. It's a lie. You got it like that girl! Now, work it!

Love,
Michelle, The overzealous writer on a mission to help women to feel empowered!

Check out Samples at Snowberry

Samples samples and more samples! How on earth can I get people to try my new wonderful skin care and bath and body line, Blended Naturals? Let's see....wait. I know! Snowberry Creek Sample Boxes! We are in this month's sample box distributed by Snowberry Creek. This is our second participation in a sample box and we look forward to participating in more sample boxes in the future.

Ladies- I know how it is to be overwhelmed with so many product choices and advertising ads. What better way to try a variety of beauty products (among other items) than to sample them from different retailers? This way you don't have to spend alot of money on buying full size products until you know you like them. Of course, the competition is in the box but I'm a firm believer that there's enough people in the world for us all to be successful. What one person likes another may not and vice versa. Either way someone will enjoy my products so I love it whenever I get this opportunity.

So check out Snowberry Creek's sampler box this month if you want to get a little taste of what Reviyve Blended Naturals has to offer. We offer Dead Sea mineral and specialty handcrafted natural skin care products, bath, body and spa products that are formulated to nourish and heal. Our natural skin care products are great for those with sensitive skin and our bath and body products can be customized with Essential Oils for a wonderful aromatic & therapeutic experience!

Finally, I want to offer Debbie & Julie a very hearty thank you for generously featuring my business in this month's E-Tailer Spotlight. Check it out at:

Cheers to the Sampler!

Anti-wrinkle vs Anti-Aging

Can a skin care product really be considered anti-aging? NO! I wanted to add the "H" word before the "NO" but I'm a Christian so can't do that. I am human though and I do confess to thinking it! How on earth are you going to stop the aging process..unless you just die?

It always behooves me to see product claims re: anti-aging. There is no such thing. Actually, aging is a wonderful thing. It means you have been given the opportunity to actually experience life. There's nothing wrong with getting older.

Now to address the vain. So, you don't want to look like you are getting older? Ok, then don't look for anti-aging products. Consider anti-wrinkle products. There are some products on the market that can discourage the appearance of wrinkles. Barring, surgery these products will help you to age gracefully. There are some products on the market that can also help deal with skin issues so that you don't have get wrinkles prematurely. The problem with a lot of anti-wrinkle products are they are so heavy laden with chemicals that the side effect from the chemicals may be worst than actually getting a wrinkle or two.

One area that people are a bit considered about getting wrinkles is the eyes. Well, one really great way to prevent premature wrinkles around the eye area is to stop worrying. Just like you can get premature grey hair from worry and stress, you can also get premature wrinkles.

As ladies we really do want to look young as long as possible so hear are a few anti-wrinkle products that I use and highly recommend. I'm going to keep it real too. While I am in the business to sell natural skin care products, I am NOT in the business of ripping folks off and selling products that don't do what they claim to. I would rather stay working at my day job and quit this business before I do that. Any product I sell, if I can't use it and it doesn't work for me, then I have to assume it won't work for anyone else. Capiche?

So here are 4 products that I use and have some good experience with:

Blended Naturals Day/Night Mineral Plumping Anti Wrinkle Cream
This product is great for plumping a little life into dull skin. Sometimes when I wake in the morning after not getting a good night's sleep I use this product and it really does help the face to look more vibrant. Plus, it infuses Dead Sea Minerals into the skin and contains anti-oxidants to fight free radicals.

Blended Naturals Dead Sea AHA Night Time Facial Peel
This product is great for refining the skin and minimizing pores which will help prevent wrinkles in the long run.

Blended Naturals Under Eye Serum
I love this serum because it helps to reduce the puffiness under your eyes as well as helps to lighten dark circles. Some people have natural "bags" under their eyes due to genetics. This probably won't help you. However, if you typically don't have "bags" under your eyes but you have them due to a lack of sleep, stress or whatever, then you will be quite pleased with this product. This under eye serum is loaded with Dead Sea Minerals, cell renewing peptides, and other natural nutrients. Over a few weeks of constant use (2x per day) you should see a noticeable difference. Just be careful not to apply it too closely to the eye like I did. The burning sensation of anything in contact with the eye is not fun.

Lastly, Blended Naturals Dead Sea Mineral Hydrating Anti Wrinkle Serum. I don't use this product every day because I mostly use the Day/Night Cream. However, I've had customers who have purchased this serum and they just love it! It gives the sensation of a tighter skin feel. This is due to the Phytolift and Botopical which lifts and tones the skin.

To sum it all up, if you are looking for an anti-aging product, you'll be disappointed by products that claim to do so. Honestly, I believe the words "anti-aging" are used more for the purposes of marketing. If you are looking for some really good anti-wrinkle products then Blended Naturals can offer you that at very affordable prices. Plus don't let the small bottles fool you. A little goes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way. If you don't believe it yet, stop buy our online store to pick up a Super Beauty Sampler. This sample set contains a variety of products but includes the AHA Peel and the Under Eye Serum.

Be Blessed,
Michelle
